Neglasari Waterfall in South Garut

“I want to sing like the birds sing, not worrying about who hears or what they think.” (Rumi)

Ever heard the lyrics to the Indonesian song group 'Sheila On 7', entitled What Is Missed? (Yang Terlupakan) This is not about the lyrics, this note is about a Neglasari waterfall that is often overlooked.

Admired from afar but to reach it, it seems rarely people or tourists who stop by for a moment to look from near this Neglasari Waterfall. This waterfall is located in the middle of the journey between Garut City to the south towards Pameungpeuk, West Java.

This beautiful panorama of Curug Neglasari lies in its location, tea plantations and cool air. From the direction of Garut approximately spent 3 hours, when entering the Neglasari area after the Dark Mountain. Dark Mountain itself is an unspoiled forest even though there are already many residential areas but the trees are very dense.

In the story of people around, Mount Dark is named after the name of natural events that occur, dark in the sudan language means lightning or lightning. Dark Mountain during the making of the road occurred a terrible lightning to be able to throw workers into the tree. Beyond true or false, I just accept the story.

Back again to Neglasari waterfall, this waterfall has never shrunk its water. Even in the dry season there is still water flowing in the waterfall. What distinguishes it is only the volume of water. Very contrast when it is the rainy season and the dry season.

I visit Curug Neglasari when it rains, from a distance the water is very large.

What is overlooked, so I call it only because it is often admired but rarely visited. Admired by motorists who passed Neglasari to Pameungpeuk or from the opposite direction towards Garut. (Iden Wildensyah)
